Do you ever find yourself thinking about friend or family member who you haven’t seen in a while? Maybe it’s even been even years? You miss them, but are not sure how to reconnect. Or maybe you thought about how lucky you are to have a certain friend or family member in you life but you’re not sure if they really know you feel that way- maybe you just saw them yesterday! No matter who they are, there is not a person alive would not appreciate a little a little love in an uplifting text message. Who knows, you might even catch them one a day that they could really use it.

Here’s what I do: it is 100% effective and only takes a minute…

Take 5 minutes out of your day and spread some love to these people and everyone in between. Every once in a while send a short text reminding people in your life that you care and that you’re thinking of them, even if you have not talked in a week, a month, or even years. My ‘Give Love’ text was simple “Hi! I just wanted to tell you that I Love you and I’m lucky to have you <3”. I sent this to about 50 people in my contacts list, individually. You will be amazed with how many people will respond with “I really needed this today”, “You made my day! Love you too”, “That’s one of the nicest things I’ve ever been told & made me cry”.

It is absolutely amazing how one short text can change the someone’s day, someones mood, or even someone’s week. It is so easy to get swept up in everyday routine and the stresses that encompass us daily. It is so important to remind yourself and others that you are lucky to have each other, even if you don’t see them every day or even every year. Remind people that you are there for them and that they are in your heart. And let them know today!

You will be surprised with how many wonderful words you will get back and the difference that you could make with one little text. There can be a lot of negativity in the world, so let’s try to offset that as much as we can with what we have the power to control. This is just a small example of how you can “be the change that you wish to see in the world”.

Have fun making a difference! XO
